Adapts to Any Size Business
Whether your company is modest or massive, InfoShip is the right fit.
For companies with low shipping volume and/or one distribution center, InfoShip can operate on a single computer as part of a workstation. Depending on your needs, InfoShip can alternatively have its nerve center—the DMS Server— housed in a single location where it communicates with your workstations over a local area network (LAN).
For companies with multiple distribution centers, we offer what is called a centralized server configuration where the DMS Server works in tandem with your SQL Server database. Workstation communication is over a Wide Area Network (WAN). Of course, if you prefer to have a local system, we can always install full InfoShip systems at each distribution center.
There are a wide variety of order entry, enterprise resource planning, and warehouse management systems that businesses use. InfoShip works with them all from newer systems like web services technology like SOAP or older legacy systems that communicate via ODBC, data queue, file transfer, or screen scraping. InfoShip can even integrate with your proprietary system.
Operates with any Shipping Configuration
InfoShip will work with either an operator or in-motion shipping system.
This system involves an employee who operates a shipping workstation as part of the shipping process. In this configuration, InfoShip interfaces with your enterprise resource planning or warehouse management system to control your workstations and shipping process.
This system does not have an operator, although there may be a workstation. Packages are placed on a conveyor. While in motion, they are weighed and read by a fixed barcode scanner. While on the belt, a small machine generates and affixes pressure-sensitive shipping labels to the packages. There is no InfoShip client screen. In this situation, InfoShip interfaces with the in-motion equipment, and all events happen in the background.
Tools to Make Integration Easy
InfoShip uses a few tools that enhance the integration process and significantly speed up the shipping process.
PropertySets make certain shipping information readily available, obviating the cumbersome need to look for this information and then enter this.
Mapping makes exchanging information between your system and InfoShip fast, error free, and easy.
An Event Pipeline results in robust, streamlined, and quick executions of complex behaviors.
Compatible with all Carriers
One of the hallmarks of InfoShip is flexibility. So when it comes to communication, InfoShip can interact with any carrier, be it the United States Post Office or a small, local carrier.
Infoship comes configured to work with all the current industry leaders but it can also tie into any local or preferred carriers making sure they get any documents or files necessary to complete the shipment.
