How does InfoShip work with SAP?

InfoShip can using the ActiveX tools built into the SAP GUI or we have created a Remote Function Call that can exist on a server and SAP can use this function to call InfoShip.


Can InfoShip validate addresses?

Yes, InfoShip does address validation. It can then pass validated address information back to user, allowing them the option to update the amended information into their host system. Residential addresses are also flagged, avoiding the associated accessorial charges for a correction by the carriers. (Note: Street-level validation for US addresses only)


We receive multiple orders for a single address throughout the day. How does InfoShip handle this?

InfoShip has the ability to track these orders as they are received by the host system throughout the day. Once close out has taken place, it can then electronically band the shipments together, and take advantage of weight thresholds, including hundredweight.


Are fuel surcharges maintained within InfoShip?

Yes. The maintenance required depends upon the carrier. For example, FedEx automatically downloads the percentages into InfoShip, while UPS must be manually entered.


Does InfoShip support AES Direct?

We currently support both direct entries of AES numbers, as well as a web interface for uploading shipment data to AES, and automatically retrieve the appropriate AES number when required.  While we support the web interface, it is important to note that we do not recommend using this option at the point of shipping. Due to the time required to retrieve approval and AES number information, sometimes in excess of 30 minutes, we suggest that the AES number be requested at the point at which shipment contents are known/verified.


Which Bill of Lading formats does InfoShip support?

InfoShip supports printing both Straight VICs & Standard BOL formats.


How frequently do software updates occur?

Updates for InfoShip are typically released as patches once a year, or as required. Carrier upgrades are dependent upon the carriers that a customer chooses to utilize. As examples, FedEx, UPS and USPS typically release software updates yearly in January, with patches being distributed as needed.


Does InfoShip handle hazardous goods?

Yes.  For hazardous paperwork, InfoShip interfaces to products such as Haz-Shipper to generate the required paperwork.


How many packages can InfoShip handle in an eight-hour shift?

There are many factors that enable InfoShip to process a given volume of packages in a certain timeframe.  These dependents may include such influences as server hardware, host system updates, process flows, etc.  With this in mind, our high volume customers enjoy the ability to manifest tens of thousands of shipments during a single shift, from either a single site or multiple warehouses, all on a single server.
