InfoShip® Easy to use, highly
configurable interface
InfoShip has been designed to allow for
maximum configurability while still maintaining an easy-to-use,
easy-to-understand interface that makes sense to a shipping
operator.

The InfoShip interface is built upon
the basic idea that there are four main types of fields: Shipment,
Package, Content, and Ship-With fields. Shipment fields contain
shipment-level information such as consignee ship-to information.
A shipment will contain one or more packages. Package fields
contain package-level information such as package weight and package
tracking numbers. A package can, but doesn't have to, contain one
or more content items. Content fields represent information such
as product serial numbers, product numbers, and product costs.
Ship-With fields contain shipment level information for any orders that
may be "shipped-with" the main order. This is useful, for
instance, when one box contains product for multiple orders.
All aspects of the InfoShip system are
customizable through pointing and clicking.
Main Configurable Features:
 |
Toolbar Buttons
The main InfoShip display can contain up to three separate toolbars with
up to 25 buttons on each toolbar. Each button can be tied to a
specific resource, such as a VB Script, a Behavior, or an internal DMS
function (such as Ship, Rate, or Void). |
|
 |
Keyboard
Shortcuts
Keyboard shortcuts can be defined and tied to a specific resource, such
as a VB Script, a Behavior, an internal DMS function (such as Ship,
Rate, or Void), or an InfoShip button. Keyboard shortcuts can be
individual keys (such as F5) or a combination of keys (such as Ctrl+F5,
or Ctrl+Shift+Alt+F5). |
 |
Display Fields
All aspects of the InfoShip display can be modified, including the
fields displayed on the main InfoShip display, or any of the
sub-displays such as the content or Ship-With dialogs. The icon
next to each display field represents the type of data the field
contains. The display can also be altered at runtime on an
order-by-order basis. This means that if an LTL order is loaded,
the display can be automatically reconfigured, on-the-fly, to include
LTL specific information, such as the BOL and PRO # fields. This
enables the shipment process to be streamlined for fast, efficient
shipping. |
|
 |
Powerful Scanner Templates
Scanner templates can be setup to automatically parse a barcode, placing
specific pieces of barcode data into specific fields. Resources
can be executed during each parse step. So, for instance, a
barcode containing an order number and service code could be parsed and
placed in the order field and service field and then the Load routine
could be called to pull data from a host system--all without writing any
code. |
|
 |
Custom Fields
Custom fields can be added to the InfoShip system simply by clicking an
Add button and supplying certain specifics regarding the field, such as
the name, prompt, and field type to be added. Example field types
are String, Number, Money, and Weight. Once a field has been added
to the system, it is immediately available to all aspects of the
system--such as for use on the display and search templates. |
|
 |
Custom Dialogs
The InfoShip display can be extended through the use of custom dialogs.
Custom dialogs are useful for not only organizing groups of custom
fields that have been added to the system, but also for streamlining the
shipping process by guiding the user through the shipping process of
more complex orders that may require multiple steps to complete.
The dialog to the left is part of a custom skid building implementation
that was required for one of our clients. All custom dialogs are
built and maintained using XML. See Integration Manager for more
information. |
