InfoShip® Fast, Reliable,
and Accurate Shipping
InfoShip provides 1-2 second shipping from a workstation.
Applications that use our system as a black box can process shipments in
well under a second. These times include all business rule
processing and label generation. Raw, server-side processing has
superior performance: ability to rate/manifest 25,000 parcels per hour
with peak manifesting capability of 75,000 parcels per hour (using
single 2.5 GHz Processor).
InfoShip is built on top of our DMS
Client Application Service. The DMS Client provides robust
functionality based upon years of real world logistics integration
experience. We have distilled and encapsulated this experience
into a highly efficient, re-usable, and extensible set of components,
which comprise the DMS Client.
Functionality that may normally
take several lines of interpreted VB Script code (slower) has been
optimized into a single highly efficient, stable, and compiled method
call (faster). Think of the DMS Client as a toolbox containing
tools specific to logistics integration. There are other types of
toolboxes, more general ones (for example, VB Script), that can be used
to build such logistics components. But these one-off type
solutions don't make for a fast and stable product. The DMS Client
provides a set of components that have been field tested and can be tied
together in a variety of ways to meet a customer's specific needs.
Gluing these components together to
form business rules can be done using VB Script or our own Behavior
Technology™. VB Script is useful because most IT departments have
someone on their staff who is familiar with its syntax. Our
Behavior Technology™ is the recommended approach because it makes use of
compiled functionality, as opposed to VB Script, which is interpreted.
Interpreted code means that it is compiled (turned into executable units
of logic that can be understood by the CPU) on-the-fly. Since
Behavior Technology™ bypasses this step, it is much faster.
Behavior Technology™ is also very visual, as it is flowchart based:
