InfoShip®
Search

InfoShip provides an interface to the application-service Simple Search method.  Simple Search allows you to setup a search template to use when retrieving data stored in the DMS Server database.  Simple Search allows you to retrieve summary or detail information.  Simple Search also supports simple commands, such as LEFT, RIGHT, MID, NOT, and NULL.  These commands can be defaulted so that the operator need not enter them himself.  For instance, when the command [LEFT,3]UPS is put into the service field, only shipments processed using UPS will be returned.  A template using a default of this command could be setup to return the number of UPS shipments processed thus far in the current shipping day.

Search Features:

Simple Search
Once a search template has been setup, all an operator need do is enter the data to be searched for.  Shipments that are open, closed, voided or on hold can be searched.  The InfoShip Simple Search dialog also provides a drop-down list to search data for the current day, yesterday, last week, the last two-weeks, last month, the last two months, or any other range of dates.  The last 10 used values for each search criteria are also stored and can be retrieved through a drop-down list.

Search Results
Search results are returned in the format shown in the dialog to the left.  The results can be printed to a printer.

Search Templates
A search template contains all the fields to be either returned in a search or to be used as part of the search criteria.  Once fields have been added to the template (see below) they can be re-ordered and marked as criteria fields.  Fields with the binoculars next to them have been marked as "searchable" fields, meaning they will show up as fields users can enter data into to look for.  Default values to look for can also be set in this dialog (for instance, a carrier default could be set as described above if this were a carrier specific template--as in a template called, UPS Current Package Count).

Adding Fields to Search Templates
Any field can be added to a search template.  Once added, the field can be used to only return data or it can be used to search on.  Even custom fields that are added to the system by the user or integrator can be included in a search template.
